Citizen 4 Aug 07 front page

Well, no one can say that nothing ever happens in PG. Why, today's front page story in the Citizen is about a lady from Ft. St. John who bought a few lotto tickets and won $2 on three of them. Then, when she tried to cash them in, the reading machines denied her the $6! Gasp!!!! What is this world coming to? The horror... the horror. Etc.

Click the pic to read it, if you must. But I pretty much summed it up right there, so you might want to spare yourself the time.

I guess it's better than some news about mass destruction or even Brittany or Paris. Still, pretty lame.

Heh! Reminds me of the news story in the local paper back in Davis (The Enterprise)... seems that two dogs were wandering down the street. And that made the paper!

Seriously. Oh, and the fire department dispatched a truck to follow them down the street until they were sure that they were safe. Slow news day, and obviously a slow day for the firefighters.

The article is almost worth reading. I got a little chuckle out of it, but then again I am sitting here, alone and bored at work!

that is some high quality reporting right there. i think the citizen is going for another michner award for public service journalism.
tomorrows paper will be a little more exciting with the train fire on Saturday.

That fire was something else, huh? The ironic thing about it was that it happened a day after CN got charged with their last big disaster.
