Today we spent most of the day cleaning the yard. We cleaned out the rain gutters, seeded a bare patch with grass, got our new roses into temporary holding containers until we're sure the frost has passed, raked the sticks and other collection of winter junk off of the back yard and got rid of the piles of stuff, sorted the compost into "done" and "not-so-done", moved a daisy to a new bed, and prepped a new area for plantings of poppies and morning glory. Elijah watched much of the action, with great interest, from his new play pen.

It was a nice day outside, and many of our bulbs are up and showing off as well, as you can see from the pictures with this post.

After all of that was done, we were pretty tired and hungry, so we cleaned up and then went out to Rafters for dinner.

We still have more work to do, including raking the junk off of the front yard, removing the pile of branches and leaves that's accumulated, bringing in soil for our new gardens, aerating the lawn, fertilizing and reseeding, and planting, planting, planting.
