Back in May, we took a trip to Kelowna. Dezene had some meetings there for a couple of days, and we spent a few more days just enjoying the town. Lori also had some business there, so she met us and spent some time with us.

So, why the picture of the dog? While out for a walk along the lake shore, we ran into all sorts of people walking their dogs. Most of the dog walkers were women. Elijah would zip up to their dogs and say (crazy kid that he is), "hey, you have nice hair." On at least a couple of occasions, I had to explain to rather startled women that he was talking to their dog but that she, too, had nice hair. Of course, we were all killing ourselves laughing. That kid is a barrel of laughs.
This dog had plopped itself down at the entrance to a patio of a local watering hole. The owner could not get it to move along. After the requisite Eli "nice hair" interaction with the stubborn dog and the woman walking it, the woman explained to us that she often went to the patio for a drink and that the dog wanted to go in right at that moment.
