I read somewhere that cats' still slightly non-domesticated side means (among other things) that they are never sure if they want in or out. Sequoia has this trait down to a "t". When she's in, she wants out. When we let her out, she's asks to come in again about ten minutes later - usually with a plaintive cry and a good, long stare.
