Since we've been married, we have never had our own Christmas tree. We've never bothered to buy one, because we usually travel to either Calgary or Vancouver for Christmas.
This year we weren't able to fly because Joyel is late in her pregnancy. So, we stayed home for the first time. That meant getting a tree. We had planned to go out and cut our own, but with the crazy cold snap around here right now, we chickened out and bought one from Jimmy Pattison.
Getting it decorated was a bit of an adventure. First, we did not have enough lights. Then we bought more strands and got them on the tree, but one was burned out. After about three days of fits and starts, we got the thing arrayed with bulbs, straw ornaments (which Sequoia likes to steal), and other accoutrements.
So, here it is, in all of its needle-shedding glory.
